The end

Best weekend. Yesterday I went to see Shakespeare in the Park. Hamlet! Beautiful Lauren Ambrose played Ophelia and that guy from Law and Order was hilarious as Polonius. But some of the casting was really strange. Claudius was black, the rest of the family was white, so picture this: a black man kills a white man, marries his white wife, dies violently. Hamlet as a bizarre commentary on race relations? I was disturbed. I asked my friend Rachel about it and she said I was reading into it too much. Apparently this particular company is known for its "color-blind" casting.

Today I went to NYC Pride and it was sooooo much fun, tons of people and a thunderstorm. The thunder boomed and people just cheered louder. And then the sky split and started pouring rain and the whole thing turned into a big wet t-shirt contest.

I also remember seeing Shakespeare in the Park--2005, "As you Like it." All the performers were passionate and the actresses were cute. Me and my room-mate ordered a sandwich while standing in line, which was brought to us. And I also remember running in the rain, that summer. And drinking tea on his rooftop. It was beautiful.

All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players.
